Pesticide Quick Response and Surveillance Team is primarily as a grassroots approach to monitoring pesticide poisoning. In a community based set-up, there is a need for a group trained to respond to reports of adverse events related to pesticides within a reasonable period of time. A community- based approach will ensure the most effective mechanism for surveillance and providing immediate health care to cases of pesticide poisoning. It will also be the appropriate venue for instituting policy changes regarding pesticide use.
